Cool Breeze

The arden fan in oil rubbed bronze is all you need to create style and a cool breeze through the home this summer. I love the tripod legs and walnut finish. It would look great on a porch or patio during an outdoor dinner. The industrial design is right up my alley. -Callie

Rainbow Chaser: Little Miss Chevron

I have an old dresser that I want to paint and found this inspiring photograph of a green & white dresser. The chevron design adds depth and contrasts nicely with the circular knobs. I love it against the pale blue walls. What do you think? -Callie

Let's Get Crafty: Colorful Vase

I just love this craft project that I stumbled upon on Sweet Paul. You take a clear bottle and alternate the exterior with washi tape, a type of Japanese rice paper that comes in tons of colors and patterns. It's also easy to tear, can be written on and applied to walls and furniture! Etsy's PrettyTape sells some great colors.

Freshen Up With: Colorful Ottomans

The Re-trouvé ottoman. The bright, summery colors are so cheerful and they would look great in a pair in front of a sofa or at the foot of the bed for an extra surface. My favorite is the cherry red!

Rainbow Chaser: Summer Treats

I'm inspired by the colors found in summer treats like La Newyorkina's ice pops. Flavors like avocado, tamarind and cucumber-lime not only sound refreshing but can be a bright color to incorporate into your home. Wouldn't the deep orange of a mango-chile pop mix well with the deep, blood red color of hibiscus? -Callie

Colour My Life

I stumbled upon this photograph on Style Me Pretty and was so captured by the colors. The succulents wrapped up and stuffed into an old blue glass jar would make a perfect little piece inside the home. I think I'd rest mine on a sunny window ledge. -Callie

summer color

Sometimes I forget that small bursts of color in unexpected home pieces like coasters can create a powerful impact and feel to a room. So, when I stumbled upon the citrus coasters from The Purl Bee, I thought just that. These lovely little creations are easy to make and the best part is that they don't require a sewing machine to create. They also remind me of candy and that always makes me happy. -Callie
