Let's Get Crafty: Painted Pumpkins

Alisa Burke has a beautiful tutorial for painting your own pumpkins. I love the color combinations - a nice alternative to orange and black. These would look beautiful beyond halloween as a decoration around the home! Here is the tutorial and more amazing photographs. -Callie

The Four Seasons

I squealed when I found these photographs in the preview Rue's Anniversary Issue. They are the work of Andrea Bricco who captures the four seasons using food. Here is WINTER and SPRING (my favorite!). -Callie

Freshen Up With: Lenneke Wispelwey Vases

The textured ceramic vases from Lenneke Wispelwey are so visually appealing that I would use them beyond a holder for flowers. Here are some more items from Lenneke Wispelwey, including dishes and buttons. I'm really digging the yellow cakestand Here. -Callie

Happiness: Color Crush & Milk Glass

Today's inspiration for me is all about flowers. As the weather cools down here in North Carolina I am now able to spend time in my garden without melting. This pink arrangement  (via Pinterest) is in a vintage milk glass vase, my favorite kind of vase, and makes me happy when I look at it. The arrangement HERE  (via Pinterest) using milk glass and roses is so, so lovely and will help me get through my day of being indoors (when I just want to be outside in the garden "puttering").  -Callie

Let's Get Crafty: Pie Tin Mirror

I can't get over the simplicity and style of this easy to do craft on Sweet Paul. It's a mirror filled pie tin that requires 3 items - tin, mirror & glue. I also think these pie tins would look great filled with mirrors.

Rainbow Chaser: Recycled Paper Pencils

The recycled paper pencils from Etsy's Moxiepear are at the top of my rainbow chasing list! They have a matte finish and black eraser that set's them apart from the everyday pencil. I just love them resting in the jar for a dash of bright color in an office or kid's playroom. So pretty. -Callie

Vintage Baggage

The still life compositions by realist painter Christopher Scott are breathtaking. I particularly love the baggage pieces. It makes me wonder what's inside each one. I also love the gumball machine painting here. -Callie

Gold Pops

One of my favorite colors to add throughout the home is gold. This makes me laugh because as a kid I remember my mother loving old gold mirrors and home accessories and I used to think they were unattractive. Thirty three years later, I am totally in love...

p.s. I'm really loving the metallic pouf. Wouldn't they look great in a set of two or three?
